Heavenly Supply Depot smiles with donation from Smile Magic Dental and Braces
Smile Magic Dental and Braces presented a $10,000 check to Heavenly Supply Depot at the Lewisville Chamber of Commerce July 11. The $10,000 donation is for the second annual Back 2 School Health Fair hosted by Heavenly Supply Depot. The Back 2 School Health Fair will provide economically challenged families in the Lewisville community with free school supplies and important health information prior to the 2012-13 school year and will take place Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lewisville High School Harmon Campus, 1250 West Round Grove Road.
The Smile Magic donation was celebrated at the Lewisville Chamber of Commerce as Heavenly Supply Depot announced its membership with the organization.
"We are grateful for the support of Smile Magic and for our partnership with the Chamber, as well as our partnership with so many local businesses that support this important cause," said Kim Teamer, Heavenly Supply Depot executive director.
Heavenly Supply Depot is a coalition of churches, social services and schools that work together with local businesses to sponsor the Back 2 School Health Fair.
"Partnering with Heavenly Supply Depot allows us to make an important contribution to deserving families in our community," said Dr. Chad Evans, Smile Magic founder and chief dental officer. "As a participant at the fair, it also gives Smile Magic an opportunity to educate families and children on the importance of dental health. Children with toothaches and other dental problems can't concentrate in the classroom and often suffer from health issues related to lack of dental care. The Back 2 School Health Fair helps us get that message to thousands of parents."
"It is an honor to welcome Heavenly Supply Depot as a member of the Lewisville Chamber of Commerce. We are also proud that we have members like Smile Magic to partner with and support our local non-profit organizations. The donation made by Smile Magic to Heavenly Supply Depot will help a lot of deserving Lewisville families," said Matt McCormick, Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce president.
The 2nd Annual Back 2 School Health Fair will provide, for free, the following to school age children and their families:
- backpacks and school supplies
- medical screenings
- dental information
- ID and fingerprint cards
- haircuts (students only)
- trade school/college prep and financial aid information
- health insurance information
- free food and entertainment at the fair
